"The Predator" 2018 movie is getting more star-studded than ever imagined. The movie, which will be directed by Shane Black, has signed up "Room" breakout star Jacob Tremblay and "Moonlight" actor Trevante Rhodes.
"The Predator" has loaded up its cast members ahead of its February 2017 production date. So far, the movie has confirmed Boyd Holbrook, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn and Keegan-Michael Key.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tremblay will play Holbrook's character's son. Holbrook, on the other hand, will play an ex-marine who discovers the existence of the aliens but is having trouble finding anyone who would believe his story. Rhodes, meanwhile, is on board to play a former Marine colleague of Holbrook's character.
"This Is Us" star Sterling K. Brown is "a government agent who jails Holbrook's ex-Marine character, but later needs his help with the Predators." "X-Men: Apocalypse" star Olivia Munn is playing a scientist.
There are also rumblings that Thomas Jane has sealed the deal with the studio to star in "The Predator" as a mystery character
ComingSoon.net reported that "The Predator" 2018 has been billed as a reboot to the hit sci-fi action franchise. However, the film will still have reference to John McTiernan's 1987 film.
"I think it has to stand on its own two feet, but our goal is to make sure it acknowledges that, yeah, it is 30 years later in the continuity of the story," Black said, as quoted by /FILM. "In other words, Dutch Schaefer's patrol, which was attacked and largely slaughtered, happened 30 years ago in the context of the story. It's referenced, it's part of the mythology."
For now, details on "The Predator" 2018 plot details remain under wraps, but producer John Davis reveals that the "writing is so fresh" and that it is something fans will not expect.
"The Predator" 2018 movie will begin filming in Vancouver, Canada in February this year. The movie will be based on a script written by Black and Fred Dekker.
"The Predator" movie is expected to hit theaters on Feb. 9, 2018.
