"Scandal" Season 6 episode 2 airs Feb. 2 on ABC. The upcoming segment is titled "Hardball" and it is expected to reveal the events leading to the shocking election results and feature the aftermath of Vargas' murder. Read on for detailed spoilers. "Scandal" Season 6 premiere revealed Vargas won the elections and was declared the new President of the United States. However, Vargas was shot dead on the stage when he was giving his victory speech. Later, the sniper was revealed to be an American named Nelson McClintock.
The investigation begins and Vargas is declared dead. Upon her visit to her father, Olivia finds out that Cyrus could be the man behind Vargas' assassination. She realises that Cyrus played everyone. The show ended with Olivia paying a visit to Cyrus in the White House where she whispers in his ears that she knows he killed Vargas and she will expose him.
Moving on to "Scandal" Season 6 episode 2, the show will feature a few flashbacks revealing the events during the electoral campaign. According to the synopsis for "Hardball" on network's official website, the flashbacks will reveal what led to the shocking conclusion to the elections. It will also reveal just how far Olivia was willing to go to win.
Elsewhere, Fitz and Abby deal with an unprecedented national crisis involving the newly elected president's murder. Meanwhile, Olivia and gladiators spring into action to find out the truth.
A promo video for "Scandal" Season 6 episode 2 shows that Cyrus might be in trouble for his actions. Olivia is determined to expose him as the murderer of the president.
