Paramount Pictures have released a new trailer for the live-action "Ghost in the Shell" movie, a few days early from Super Bowl LI. The trailer is only half a minute long but it gives a better look at several characters, including Batou (Pilou Asbaek) and the villain Kuze (Michael Pitt).

The first few clips in the trailer can also be seen in the first trailer launched a few months back. These scenes focus on The Major (Scarlett Johansson) utilizing her optic-camouflage suit to infiltrate a crime scene.

Many of the scenes she is shown in are inspired by the 1995 animated film. Some of these include Major fighting a criminal in the water, leaping off a building and a battle with a large tank.

Batou and members of Section 9 are then shown in full view in the middle of the trailer. In the original anime and manga, Batou is often depicted as a full cyborg with modified eyes and this is visually adapted in the film. It is unclear if his origin story will be depicted in the film.

Although Kuze is visible in the trailer, Paramount Pictures is still hiding the full feature of his character's design, Screen Rant reported. The character is only visible from the side and appears slightly damaged, indicating he is using a full cybernetic body.

"Ghost in the Shell" is facing an uphill battle, however, due to the casting of Scarlett Johansson, /Film reported. The character was originally portrayed as a Japanese investigator in the anime and manga but this was altered with Johansson taking on the role.

The film is directed by Rupert Sanders, who is most widely known for helming "Snow White and the Huntsman" but not its sequel. Other cast members include Chin Han, Takeshi Kitano, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara and Tawanda Manyimo.

"Ghost in the Shell" releases on March 31. The Super Bowl LI trailer can be viewed below:
