The search giant Google has revealed the list of devices that will get the Android 7.1.2 N update.

Unfortunately, Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 will not get the new update, according to CNET. Reports indicate that the Android 7.1.4 Nougat update is at present in beta and will be rolled out in the forthcoming months.

According to Google, the upcoming maintenance release for Android Nougat 7.1.2 is coming very soon. The search giant is rolling out a public beta to devices that are enrolled in the Android Beta Program, including Pixel C, Nexus Player, Nexus 5X, Pixel XL and Pixel devices.

The company said that they are preparing an update for Nexus 6P smartphone that they expect to roll out soon.

It is important to note that the search giant has not particularly said that the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will not be updated. The company's announcement does not mention the names of the handsets eligible for the Android 7.1.2 update.

However, a Google employee, has said that the two handsets will not get the update.

Several reports indicate that the company may continue bringing in necessary security patches to the Nexus 6 as well as Nexus 9 over a period of one year.

The present beta program is reportedly rolling for devices such as Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player, Pixel and Pixel XL.

Also, the tech company has declared that the beta program for the update will be developed for the Nexus 6P. According to reports, the program will be launched soon.

Meanwhile, latest reports indicate that Google Assistant will make its way to Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X pretty soon. The devices will support Google Assistant following the upcoming big update, Mashable reported.

Until now, it is exclusive to Pixel XL and Pixel devices. Also, devices such as Google Allo app and Google Home support the voice-assistant. For the tech company, this move will broaden Assistant's user base and enhance its machine-learning capabilities.

The tech company wants to make its Google Assistant better than competitors such as Microsoft's Cortana and Apple's Siri.

Furthermore, the LG G6 smartphone will also come with Google Assistant in-built.
