A man who was convicted of a criminal offense of child molestation and serving a sentence in a western Pennsylvania prison had pleaded guilty before the federal court on March 11, Wednesday.
Prosecutors indicted Joseph Savage, 35 years old from North Union, who at the time, is awaiting trial for an unrelated crime and was confined in a Pennsylvania prison, of threatening President Barack Obama and the President's family.
Assistant US Attorney Shardul Desai said that the contents of Savage letter stated, the following, "My purpose for the rest of my life will be set on finding you and your family, and murdering you all."
Savage admitted in the Federal Court, according to ABC News that he sent a letter on October 2012 threatening the president to be tortured and murdered and to harm family members of the president while he was in Pennsylvania's Fayette Country Prison.
His letter was addressed to 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, while the White House is at 1600 Pennsylvania, Washington. Still, the White House received the threatening letter since it was addressed to the President, although on a wrong address.
He pleaded guilty to two counts, one for threatening the president and another for threatening the president's family. Under the Federal Law one count carries a five years imprisonment on its maximum period.
When Judge Maurice Cohill of US District Court in Pittsburgh ask him why he is pleading guilty, Joseph Savage replied that he wrote that letter. District Judge Cohill ordered Savage to appear before the court on June 17 for the promulgation of the sentence.
Attorney Jon Pushinsky, Savage Defense attorney refused to make some comments why his client pleaded guilty to the charges, told by TWCC.
Joseph Savage was convicted and serving a 12 years 6 months to 25 years imprisonment for making terroristic threats, corruptions of minors and aggravated indecent child assault.
