"Fallout Shelter," Bethesda Softworks' first major release mobile game, is now available for the Xbox One. The console port will also support Xbox Play Anywhere, guaranteeing players can transfer and continue game saves to and fro the Windows 10 PC port of the game.
Unlike the main "Fallout" games, "Fallout Shelter" focuses on placing the player as a Vault Overseer. The game is similar in design to "Sim City" franchise and focuses on expanding a vault and aiding the residents to survive the post-apocalyptic Wasteland.
Included in the Xbox One port are all of the new features that have been added following its initial launch on mobile devices, the official Xbox One news page reported. These additions include characters from "Fallout 4," crafting, pets and new Vault rooms.
Expanded quest options are also included in the Xbox One port. These quests include allowing Vault Dwellers to be sent out to the Wasteland or old Vaults in order to scavenge for supplies, legendary loot or to fight enemies like Ghouls or Super Mutants.
The Xbox One port of the game will incorporate a different button scheme suited for the Xbox One controller, RPG Fan reported. This will allow gamers to play the game despite it being originally designed with a touchscreen or mouse and keyboard in mind.
With the Xbox Play Anywhere feature, gamers will be able to load their Windows 10 save files on the Xbox One port and vice versa. It should be noted that Xbox Play Anywhere is only compatible for Windows 10 and not older versions of the desktop OS. "Fallout Shelter" originally launched for the PC back in July 2016.
"Fallout Shelter" can be downloaded from the Windows Store and Xbox Store. The game is also available on iOS and Android devices. The official trailer for "Fallout Shelter" can be viewed below:
