Burnley has been inconsistent in the last six rounds, alternating winning and losing in the said time span. The team is currently settled in the 12th spot of the 20-team English top flight table, nine points above the bottom three relegation zone but 17 points below the Europa League qualifying berth held by Liverpool.

The Clarets, last season's Football League Championship winners, are coming off a tough 1-2 loss to Watford at the Vicarage Road last Saturday, as per Daily Mail Online.

Irish midfielder Jeff Hendrick was sent off in the sixth minute after a high tackle on Watford defender Jose Holebas, giving Burnley a one-man disadvantage early in the match.

Hornets captain Troy Deeney then broke the deadlock in the 10th minute before French forward Mbaye Niang doubled the hosts' lead two minutes into the first half injury time.

Austrian striker Ashley Barnes was able to trim the gap with a penalty kick in the 78th minute for head coach Sean Dyche's squad, but the team was not able to find the equalizer as time expired.

Meanwhile, Chelsea continued its dominance this season with a 3-1 victory over fellow title contenders Arsenal at the Stamford Bridge also last Saturday, BBC Sport reported.

Head coach Antonio Conte's side started strongly, dominating ball possession and was into attack mode from the kickoff.

Defender Marcos Alonso opened the scoring in the 13th minute to give the Blues a one-point lead at the half. Belgian winger Eden Hazard then doubled their lead in the 53rd minute before Cesc Fabregas all but sealed the game in the 85th.

Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud scored a consolation goal in stoppage time.

It was the fourth consecutive unbeaten performance for the Blues as they are still ahead by nine points in the standings to second-place team Tottenham Hotspur.
