The previous episode was a Valentine's Day special. It focused on a Valentine's Day from Jack and Rebecca's past. At the time, their children are teenagers. Unfortunately, the couple is in a midst of fight while Rebecca is preparing for her next tour. Jack is worried about his three teenagers who are behaving such. Jack wants Rebecca to cancel her tour and tries to manipulate her in canceling her plan.

Moving on with "This Is Us" Season 2 episode 16. The network has released a brief synopsis revealing the main focus on the upcoming segment.

According to Spoilersguide's description of episode 2X16, the show will focus on Randall and William's relationship. The father and the son spend more time together and learn more about each other. The duo takes a road trip to Memphis where Randall finds out more about his biological father.

A promo video for "This Is Us" Season 2 episode 16 teases a "journey of a lifetime" for the father and his son.
