Known for starring in "Glee" with Lea Michele and the late Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer is plotting his return to TV in the science-fiction drama "Indigo" about the kids with special powers. He is getting ready for his TV comeback with his style.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colfer is teaming with Sonar Entertainment to develop "Indigo." He created as a starring vehicle for himself. He will write the script for the potential pilot and is expected to direct it as well.

"Indigo" is about the mysterious world of the indigo children who are misdiagnosed as having mental or physical illnesses when they really possess supernatural abilities, TV Line reported. Naturally, the dark forces will arise and will intend to exploit the children's powers for their own dark purposes.

Sonar Entertainment will produce "Indigo." Keith Quinn and Colfer's manager Rob Weisbach will executive produce alongside the Golden Globe-winning actor Chris Colfer.

For Colfer, "Indigo" would mark his return to TV as series regular following his six-season run as Kurt Hummel on Fox's Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuk/Ian Brennan phenomenon "Glee." He has maintained a relatively low profile since the hit musical show ended in March 2015.

Colfer is represented by ICM Partners, Rob Weisbach Creative Management, and Myman Greenspan. He racked up a single appearance in an episode of TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland" and a role in "Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie" last year. He previously had a deal with Disney Channel to adapt "The Little Leftover Witch" for the small screen.

As an author, Colfer penned a Season 5 episode of the Fox musical "Glee" and has remained busy afterwards. His New York Times best-selling children's series "The Land of Stories" has been translated into 20 languages. He also had his book "Struck by Lightning" adapted into a 2012 feature film, which he wrote, starred in, and produced.

Meanwhile, the independent studio Sonar Entertainment has multiple TV series in the works, including MTV's "The Shannara Chronicles" Season 2, AMC's Pierce Brosnan-starred drama "The Son," and David E. Kelley's adaptation of Stephen King's "Mr. Mercedes" for the Audience Network. It also serves as a distributor on FX's Tom Hardy vehicle "Taboo."

No network has been attached yet for "Indigo." However, the plan at the moment is to shop it to broadcast networks, cable channels, premium, and streaming services.
