The famous TV host Oprah Winfrey stars in a new movie premiering on HBO titled "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." The movie is a based on the true-life story of a cancer patient Henrietta Lacks whose cells were used for cancer research without her family's consent.

The movie is about an Afro-American woman who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1951 and was undergoing treatment at John Hopkins hospital. While she was undergoing her treatment, the doctors discovered that her cells could multiply and not die, naming it as HeLa immortal cell line. These cells were later used for research that made some scientific breakthroughs in polio vaccine and much more. However, the cells were harvested without the knowledge and consent of the family.

According to MSN, Oprah is playing the lead role in the movie as Henrietta's daughter "Deborah" along with Australian actress Rose Byrne, playing as "Rebecca Skloot," the author whose book is also taken for creating this movie. Renée Elise Goldsberry is playing Henrietta Lacks in the film. The author has played a significant role in real life as well as she helped the daughter "Deborah" discovers information about her mother.

The Lacks' story is not a new to the world of science as their involuntary contribution has saved lives of many humans over the decades, however, was unknown to many people until the release of the book by the same name "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." The book was also honored as the New York Best Seller in 2010.

Apart from playing Henrietta's daughter, Winfrey is even co-producing the movie, and George C. Wolfe is directing. The first teaser of the film was recently launched on the internet so that the viewers can get an idea of the film.

In the trailer the audience can see heart-wrenching performance by Oprah and look at the teaser, one can say that the story is worth telling the world, as confirmed by US blasting news.

The movie "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" is all ready to premier on HBO on Apr. 22 at 8 PM.
