A new development from Google now allows Android users to use the Google search app to look for their Google Drive files. With this Search update, Android users can find all the files saved in their Google Drive straight from the app.

Google confirmed that the next release of the Google Search app for Android will index all Drive files and folders through the Firebase App Indexing. This will allow the Google Search app to display Google Drive files and folders in the search results when Android user keys in the file name in the search app.

As reported by Gizbot, the update will include the "IN APPS" tab, where a search for files or folders stored in the Google Drive can be made. This development is especially useful for Android users who store most of their files and folders in Google Drive.

To take full advantage of this new update, Android users must use the Google Play Store to update their Google Drive app to its latest version. Since Google Drive is not counted among the best cloud productivity tools available in the market today, the new update makes it one of the most promising cloud services around the world, especially since it makes the Search app automatically integrated into Google accounts.

The update offers a whole slew of features that make it convenient for Android users to use. Aside from it comes with a clear UI, it also allows users to manage all their files on the cloud. It has the ability to manage almost all sorts of files, including spreadsheets, slides and other shareable documents.

As noted by Tech Portal, not everyone is aware of this update and its promising features. This development helps boost productivity when it comes to storing and sharing as it lets one find his documents directly from within the app.

According to Google, the new Google Search update could take a few more days to be rolled out to all Google Drive and Android users. Learn more about Google Drive for mobile here:
