"Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" is off to an impressive start with viewership shares at a high level, especially for a cable channel production. With many cable dramas typically hovering between TV ratings of 1 percent to 3 percent, the said series already surpassed the said range.

Released on Feb. 24, Friday, the JTBC drama's premiere episode posted nationwide TV ratings of 3.829 percent, according to Nielsen Korea, as cited by All Kpop. Across the Seoul metropolitan area, the JTBC drama reached a viewership rating of 4.044 percent.

Given the impressive numbers, "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" became the highest rated drama on JTBC. The production even bested its competitor namely "Unnies Slam Dunk" that also aired on the same timeslot. The said KBS program only registered nationwide TV ratings of 3.2 percent.

Many fans are hoping that the new JTBC series will continue to post high viewership shares. Similar to the successful run of the tvN fantasy series "Goblin," the said new production is expected to become one of South Korea's popular cable dramas.

"Goblin" even ended its nearly two-month broadcast with a four-week winning streak on the Content Power Index (CPI). During the tvN drama's finale week in January, the fantasy series scored 301.2 points on the said TV popularity chart, according to CJ E&M Entertainment and Nielsen Korea, as cited by Yonhap News.

Meanwhile, "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" features the onscreen pairing of Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young. Portraying the gaming company CEO Min Hyuk and the strong woman Bong Soon, respectively, avid viewers can expect to see more of the two South Korean celebrities' amazing chemistry together.
