The latest sneak peek for episode 9 has bad news for Clary whose been affected by the blood oath spell. Magnus attempts to save Clary in the trailer. Magnus reveals that he can get rid of the pain but that is about it. He cannot do anything about breaking the spell. He warns that once the magic reaches Clary's heart, it is the end. He explains there is nothing they can do about it as the blood oath spells are completely binding. It is impossible to reverse it now.

"The Downworlders are at odds on how to handle the issue of Clary being a key part of Valentine's plan, but when Iris activates her blood oath, Clary has more to worry about than hiding from Valentine and the Downworlders. Meanwhile, Isabelle and Raphael get closer, as Alec tries to figure out what's going on with his sister," reads the official synopsis.

Recently, Entertainment Weekly interviewed Katherine McNamara (Clary) after Simon confesses his love for her character.

"I love the way that they've built their love story because Clary and Simon have grown up together and they know each other better than they know themselves, and now they're both a part of this new world and beginning to find their way," the actress said.

She added that both Clary and Simon are growing up, getting matured and fighting their own battles.
