Before India Gants, 20, was declared the "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 23 winner, producer Ken Mok, 56, talked about the model from Seattle, Washington, and her resemblance to Gigi Hadid, 21. The producer also mentioned first runner-up Tatiana Price, 21, and second runner-up Cory Anne Roberts, 19.
For Mok, Gants, Price and Roberts are three distinct choices. Before the "ANTM" Cycle 23 finale, Gants won Best Photo five times while Price won once and Roberts won twice.
"A lot of people compare her looks to Gigi Hadid, and people on the show like her modeling experience," Mok said of Gants in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "But does she have the same kind of personality that Tatiana has? Cory Anne is both of them."
Gants find it cheesy that she is often told that she and Hadid look alike. However, she told People that she does admire the career path of Hadid career path because she can do both commercial modelling and high fashion.
Initially, Hadid broke into the fashion industry as a model who is not typically skinny, Gants pointed out. The "ANTM" Cycle 23 winner said that like her, Hadid is a little bit bigger and she is doing every type of modeling very well.
Hadid is currently dating former One Direction member Zayn Malik, 24. The siblings of the latter namely Bella Hadid, 20, and Anwar Hadid, 17, are both models, as well.
Aside from Price and Roberts, Gants defeated 11 other contestants. They are Justine Biticon, 18, Marissa Hopkins, 18, Giah Hardeman, 21, Paige Mobley, 22, Kyle McCoy, 23, Cherish Waters, 25, Krislian Rodriguez, 25, Binta Dibba, 25, Courtney Nelson, 25, Tash Wells 26, and Cody Wells, 26.
As the "ANTM" Cycle 23 winner, Gants is receiving a Paper magazine spread, a $100,000 contract with Rimmel London cosmetics and a one-year talent deal with VH1. Here is a video of her three years ago:
