Steve Boyum directed "Black Sails" Season 4 episode 7 titled "XXXV," which was written by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine. In the episode, viewers saw how Spain easily invaded Providence Island's largest port Nassau, which is one of the largest commercial centers in the Bahamas.

Viewers did not see much resistance during the Spanish invasion in "XXXV." To survive the invasion, Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and Eleanor Guthrie (Hannah New) worked together.

On the other hand, there were others who tried to reach their ships to make a retreat. As for John Silver (Luke Arnold), viewers saw how he tried to fix relations between the pirates and the former slaves.

Joining Stephens, New and Arnold in "XXXV" were Luke Roberts as Woodes Rogers, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Max, Tom Hopper as Billy Bones, Toby Schmitz as Rackham, Clara Paget as Anne Bonny, David Wilmot as Israel Hands, Zethu Dlomo as Madi, Andre Jacobs as De Groot, Craig Johnson as Featherstone, Lise Slabber as Idelle, Laudo Liebenberg as Dooley, Chris Fisher as Ben Gunn, Winston Chong as Joji, Adam Neill as Mr. Soames, David Butler as Frasier, Andrian Mazive as Kofi, Tinah Mnumzana as Ruth, Jorge Suquet as Grandal, Sizo Mahlangu as Obi, Apolinhalo Antonio as Zaki and Tony Kgoroge as Julius. Scott George, Gavin Gomes and Brandon Amronski played Spanish characters in the episode.
