Chinese fans of the band Rolling Stones would have the chance to watch the “Havana Moon” concert held on March 25, 2016 in Cuba. The concert film would be distributed in China by Pannonia Entertainment, a European-Chinese distributor, and MusicScreen, a global distribution company.

The film of the band’s free outdoor concert has been shown in theaters around the world in September as a one-night theatrical release. The movie has also been released on DVD, Blu-ray, DVD+2CD, DVD+3LP, Digital Video and Digital Audio by Eagle Rock Entertainment which also came out with a special Deluxe Edition of the concert film, Uncut reported.

Paul Dugdale directed the film which was produced by JA Films and Eagle Rock Entertainment. The film would be screened in the central cinema of China Film Archive in Beijing, Klaudia Elsasser, founder and managing director of Pannonia Entertainment, said. She added “Havana Moon” recreates one of the most exciting and timeless moments in music history for Chinese lovers of music.

Foreign Acts

China has been allowing foreign acts to past decades in its concert scene, such as the late George Michael who held a concert at the Worker’s Gymnasium in April 1985. However, the one exception are Korean artists who have been affected by the Beijing ban on Hallyu because of the THAAD missile deployment.

Li Ta, manager of Central CFI Cinemas where the Rolling Stones’ “Havana Moon” concert would be show, said, “I wish the Rolling Stones could come to China sometime in the near future. I was impressed by their energetic and professional performance. They are the superstar as always. It’s really nice to have them on the big screen. I appreciated very much to bring the film to Chinese audiences.”

The band has tour documentary film, “Ole, Ole, Ole!: A Trip Across Latin America,” which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The docu debuted a week later on Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. on Starz, a U.S. TV broadcasting network, and “Havana Moon” on Jan. 22, Deadline Hollywood reported.
