It has been confirmed that former K-Pop girl group 2NE1 member Sandara Park will join the cast of the upcoming "Cheese in the Trap" film. She and the cast led by Park Hae Jin will meet for the first time on March 25, Saturday.
Filming will start in April. Joining Sandara and Hae Jin in the cast are Park Ki Woong, Oh Yeon Seo, Oh Jong Hyuk, Yoo In Young, Moon Ji Yoon and Kim Hyun Jin.
In a statement obtained by All KPop, Mountain Movement Story revealed the characters to be played by Dara and Kim. Dara will play Jang Bo Ra while Kim will play Kwon Eun Taek, according to the production agency of the film.
The "Cheese in the Trap" film is based on the Naver webtoon series of the same name. The 16-episode TV series that aired on tvN from Jan. 1, 2016 to March 1, 2016 starred Kim Go Eun as a hardworking college student named Hong Seol, Hae Jin as Yoo Jung, an intelligent and successful senior of Seol, and Seo Kang Joon as Baek In Ho, a talented pianist adapted into Jung's rich family.
In the "Cheese in the Trap" film, Hae Jin will reprise his role as Yoo Jung. Ki Woong, Yeon Seo, Jong Hyuk, Yoo and Moon will play Baek In Ho, Hong Seol, Oh Young Gon, Baek In Ha and Sang Chul, respectively.
Before the "Cheese in the Trap" film, Sandara will play her first lead role in a film. She will star in "One Step," the South Korean film remake of the comedy-drama film "Begin Again," which starred Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley, Adam Levine, James Corden, Hailee Steinfeld, Yasiin Bey, CeeLo Green and Catherine Keener.
"One Step" was directed by Jeon Jae Hong. It stars Sandara as Si Hyun, Han Jae Suk as Woo Hyuk, Hong Ah Reum as Ji Won and Jo Dong In as Jee Il.
On March 21, Tuesday, Jeon, Sandara, Han, Hong and Jo attended a press conference for "One Step." Sandara was the greatest rookie actress Jeon has ever seen as she always came with her lines perfectly memorized and barely made any mistakes although she started her career as a singer, Xports News quoted the director as saying.
