The undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. went back to the traditional boxing training style to prepare for his biggest match against the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao this coming May 2.

The 38-year-old boxer showed off around the social media his Rocky Balboa inspired training on a video posted on his Instagram.

As seen on the video, the boxer is outside on a cloudy day, hacking and chopping enormous logs with his steel axe.

Considered to be one of the most manliest pastimes, this lumberjack exercise is said to be great for increasing upper body strength. It also helps develops the fighter's core;  good enough to bring proper amount of explosiveness inside the ring.

Sky Sport reported that this kind of training has been used by several boxing champions before. In 1974, Muhammad Ali also prepared for his match against Joe Frazer using the traditional swinging of axe on woods.

Meanwhile while Mayweather is focusing on his strength, his rival is focusing on something else.

On a report by Sporting News, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum revealed that the boxer's timing and positioning is the focus of his training. He also revealed that we might expect the eigth-division world champion to exhibit a different style of boxing in his match with Mayweather.

BIlled as the "Fight of the Century", the most awaited bout between these two iconic boxing superstars is set on May 2, 2015 at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
