As per official reports, the series is set to air in July, so fans take a positive take on Martin's statements and believes that the release of his book will be on June; however, reports suggest that since Martin is currently occupied with the idea of opening a film studio in Santa Fe, Mexico, it somehow lessens their hopes because it will only divide the author's attention. Moreover, there is also no update as to the progress and status of the novel. Nevertheless, fans remain hopeful that if not on June, the sequel of the novel still has the rest of the year for its release.

For those uninitiated, "The Winds of Winter" is regarded as one of the most highly-anticipated novel to date.

In another note, reports has it that Martin already sought the help of Neil Gaiman to expedite the release of "The Winds of Winter." Reportedly, Gaiman is now the editor of the book.

Nevertheless, spoilers suggest that "The Winds of Winter" is worth the wait because it will clear all the cliffhangers left in the last sequel "A Dance with Dragons." Previously, it was also reported that the next installment of the book will bring readers in various journeys and places, although it was reiterated that the battle among the seven clans will be more highlighted.

To date, the speculations on the release date of "The Winds of Winter" has neither been refuted nor confirmed, thus, the release date is as much a mystery as the plot itself.
