In a recent appearance on "Ellen," stars Dylan Minnette and Katharine Langford talked about their hit Netflix show. "We don't know yet. We really don't," Minnette told Ellen DeGeneres about season renewal talks. "I feel like the world's going to know before we do if it happens. I'll be online and be like, 'Oh, there's a second season."

At the E! News WE Day 2017, executive producer Selena Gomez was asked about "13 Reasons Why" Season 2, to which she replied "Maybe." In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez said that while they still don't know what's beyond the show, they do know that there are so many stories beneath each of the characters.

Another reported hint at a season renewal for "13 Reasons Why" is the fact that the role of Reggie Mantle has been recasted for "Riverdale" Season 2, as actor Ross Butler is reportedly unavailable to film the role in the next season due to other commitments. Butler plays fan favorite Zach Dempsey on "13 Reasons Why," and many presume that his other projects pertain to "13 Reasons Why" Season 2.

Meanwhile, Minnette and Langford have responded to the recent backlash on "13 Reasons Why," particularly with some opinions saying it glamorizes suicide.

"I have tremendous respect for everyone's point of view," Minnette told The Los Angeles Times. "I wouldn't want to tell anyone that they have to watch it. I wouldn't want to tell anyone that it is panacea for everybody; no piece of film or television is."

In response to this backlash, Netflix also announced that it will add more content warnings at the beginning of the show and will also adjust the text settings of this warnings so that they become more prominent.
