Bobby made a personal announcement last month, through a handwritten letter, that he was engaged and would become a father in September.

The K-pop artist confessed thinking about how to make his marriage announcement and also put out an apology to fans for the sudden news. In the letter, he also mentioned that he would work even harder to not cause harm to iKON's members and fans who were waiting for the boy band's activities.

As soon as the post was uploaded, fans flocked to Bobby's Instagram, and his name trended in various Koran search portals. The news was met with mixed reactions, with some netizens stating that Bobby hadn't completed his mandatory military service, while others sent congratulatory messages.

The rapper did not disclose the identity of his fiancée in his letter, leading fans to speculate whether they were a celebrity.

iKON made its debut under YG Entertainment in 2015 and is made up of members Bobby, Chanwoo, Ju-ne, Donghyuk, Yunhyeong, and Jinhwan. Bobby made his official debut under iKON in 2015 with "My Type". The K-pop group released their single "Why Why Why" in March 2021.

iKON recently celebrated the 6th-anniversary of the group on September 15. To commemorate the occasion, the band members took part in a live broadcast through NAVER's V LIVE.

The live event saw Bobby's first public appearance after his official engagement and fatherhood announcement in August. The rapper, whose real name is Kim Ji-won, said that iKON wants to meet the fans more and have conversations to get closer.

Bobby also thanked the fans for cherishing the K-pop group for six years. The broadcast, which was 46 minutes long, also saw the members speak about the time capsule that they will open next year. The artist did not mention anything about his announcement that had left both fans and netizens surprised.

Bobby has also released two solo albums, namely "Love and Fall" in 2017 and "Lucky Man" in January 2021. The artist is also part of the duo sub-unit MOBB, along with Song Min-ho of WINNER.
