The BTS: Army, the fans of K-pop sensation BTS, has trended "Protect Jungkook" on Twitter. The development happened after the singer resigned as the president of his brother's clothing company Six6uys following the accusation of backdoor advertising.

Six6uys Co., Ltd. launched a clothing brand named "GRAFFITIONMIND" earlier this month. On September 1, Jungkook made an appearance on a V Live wearing a T-shirt from the brand. On September 10, he uploaded a selfie on Weverse and Twitter wearing the same T-shirt in another color.

Soon there was a controversy revolving around backdoor advertising. It refers to the practice of undisclosed advertising by Korean celebrities where they promote products without being paid or disclosing their partnership.

Following the controversy, Jungkook gave his resignation from the position of an in-house director of the company on September 14.

Now, the loyal fan-base of the K-pop band BTS, the BTS: Army has come together and announced an online campaign called "Protect Jungkook". The fans are defending their idol by flooding Twitter with supportive messages for the singer. Some even thought that the whole hoopla of backdoor advertising was fraud news and that the BTS: Army shouldn't believe it.

According to the various tweets, the fans are making statements such as Jungkook simply wore his brother's clothes and never said anything about the product, so there is no proof of false advertisement. They feel that why can't Jungkook use his own brother's product and that he never told anyone to search for the product or buy it.

The fans also blamed Big Hit Music, the entertainment company that handles BTS, for not doing enough to protect their artists from unnecessary defamation and not taking any actions.

Meanwhile, BTS has recently made news for its collaboration with Coldplay, for the latter's latest track "My Universe". The K-pop group also performed the song at the Global Citizen Live Concert. The most famous K-pop boy band comprises seven members namely Jin, Park Ji-min, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, V, and RM.

Jungkook, whose full name is Jeon Jung-kook, is the youngest member and vocalist of BTS. He made his debut as a member of BTS on June 12, 2013, with the release of the single "2 Cool 4 Skool". The popular artist has also sung three solo songs under BTS.

In a survey carried out by Gallup Korea in 2019, Jungkook got the third rank for South Korea's most-loved celebrity of the year. The popularity of the singer has also earned him the nickname of "Sold Out King" because whatever he promotes or is seen using often sells out quickly.
