Digimon Ghost Game, the ninth anime series in the Digimon franchise, will be streaming on Crunchyroll.

Bandai and Toei Animation recently wrapped the Digimon franchise's special 20th Anniversary celebration with a new perspective on the original series. The series is now headed for a new era with the launch of the Fall 2021 anime in October.

Previously, it was confirmed that the franchise's next iteration will take the anime in a completely new direction with a new set of DigiDestined and their partners. Fans can see the new chapters on Crunchyroll.

The launch of Digimon Ghost Game in Japan will be on October 3, and Crunchyroll will be streaming it alongside its Japan release. The release date for the simulcast is yet to be confirmed, but most probably it will launch in other territories on October 2. 

Masashi Sogo is going to handle the scripts while Masato Mitsuka, who has worked in the past on the Digimon Adventure reboot series, and Kimitoshi Chioka, who previously worked on Dragon Ball Super, will direct Digimon Ghost for Toei Animation. The characters are being designed by Tenya Yabuno, the art director is Mai Ichioka, Kenji Watanabe will once again design Digimon, and the design adaptation for the new anime is being done by Cho Shinozuka.

Cast additions include Mutsumi Tamura as Hiro Amanokawa, Yu Kobayashi as Ruri Tsukiyono, Akira Ishida as Kiyoshiro Higashmitarai, Miyuki Sawashiro as Hiro's partner Gammamon, Kazuya Nakai as Ruri's partner Angoramon, and Yu Shimamura as Kiyoshiro's partner Jellymon.

Toei Animation has officially described Digimon Ghost Game as being in the near future where there has been the development of new technology. Rumors have been floating on social media about Hologram Ghosts, a strange phenomenon with an authenticity that is unknown.

Meanwhile, Crunchyroll has also added World Trigger Season 3, The Ancient Magus' Bride OAD, and Let's Make a Mug Too to its Fall 2021 lineup. The official announcement stated, "Crunchyroll is summoning a whole brand new season of anime with booster packs full of rare and classic series for you to play!". Furthermore, Crunchyroll is activating the freshest shows like Blade Runner: Black Lotus, SAKUGAN, and Platinum End. Returning series will be evolving into new seasons with Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon - The Second Act and 86 EIGHTY-SIX.

The streaming site will also show classics such as Dragon Quest, BORUTO: Naruto Next Generations, and One Piece.
