K-pop sensation BTS and rock band Coldplay have dropped the video for their collaborative track "My Universe". The song is the second single on "Music of the Spheres", the upcoming album by Coldplay that arrives on October 15. The video surpassed 9 Million views on YouTube within 9 hours of release.

The single, which has been sung in both Korean and English, has been co-written by Swedish producer Max Martin, who first rose to prominence for writing and co-producing Britney Spear's iconic "Hit Me Baby One More Time".

Dave Meyers, who is known for his work for Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes's "Senorita", Ariana Grande's "God Is A Woman", and Kate Perry's "Swish Swish" has directed the music video for "My Universe".

The video shows the two groups and alien group Supernova 7 join forces in hologram form to fight powers that rule the Spheres galaxy, a distant galaxy where music is forbidden. There they play "My Universe" to defy the ban on music and perform inside some type of futuristic radio station.

"Once upon a time, many years from now... Music is forbidden across the spheres. On three different planets, three different bands defy the ban. DJ Lafrique, on her alien radio ship, unites them via Holoband. All the while, they are hunted by the Silencers," the video text reads before the song unfolds.

The track promotes unity amid division and the music video also conveys the message that music transcends space.

BTS and Coldplay also dropped two new renditions of the song earlier this week, including the Supernova 7 mix and a stripped-back acoustic recording. The two famous bands released a documentary "Inside My Universe", which showcases how both the groups recorded their collaboration in Korea. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin gives a commentary in the documentary and shares how the two were brought together.

The South Korean has released two other English tracks this year, including "Permission to Dance" and "Butter", besides "My Universe" with Coldplay. The K-pop boy band also released a remix version of Butter with Megan Thee Stallion.

BTS had recently traveled to the US for the 76th United Nations General Assembly as South Korea's Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture. During the trip, they also met Coldplay, gifting modernized hanboks, the traditional Korean clothing, to the members and shared photos of the meet on the social media accounts.
