GOT7's Youngjae has topped iTunes charts worldwide with his official solo debut track "Vibin".
The K-pop singer made his solo debut on October 5 at 6 PM KST with his first mini-album "COLORS From Ars", along with the title track "Vibin". Both the album and its title track rose to the top of iTunes charts in several countries all over the globe.
The album had reportedly already reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 26 different countries, including Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia, Chile, and Argentina as of 2:30 PM KST on October 6. The album is also at the No. 2 spot on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart and No. 1 on the European iTunes Album Chart.
"Vibin" is at No. 8 on the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart. The title track also reached No. 1 on Genie in less than 8 hours of its release and was the most liked song there in the last 24 hours.
The title track also hit the No. 1 spot on iTunes Top K-pop Songs charts in the USA, while the mini-album took the No. 2 position on the US iTunes Top K-Pop Albums charts.
Youngjae thanked GOT7's official fan club Ahgase and said he was truly grateful that his fans were showing so much support for his first solo album, for which he worked hard to prepare. The singer also asked his fans to continue to keep an eye on his future promotions as well.
"Vibin" exhibits the singer's strengths as a vocal powerhouse in the upbeat dance-pop song and he makes complete use of his dynamic range. The other songs on the album have Youngjae's signature sounds and he also experiments with synth-pop and R&B.
The music video for "Vibin" embodies the singer's chill vibes and shows him taking a classic convertible car down dirt roads. Youngjae is seen wearing double denim and pointed-toe black shoes. The song conveys how the K-pop singer is the best companion to go on a trip down memory lane.
The mini-album consists of seven songs in total, including "Lonely", "Moonlight", "Eternal", "Roses", "Tasty", "Beautiful" apart from the title track.
Fans have pointed out GOT7 and its individual members' association with the number seven. Youngjae's new solo album has seven songs, the singer is going solo after seven years, and the K-pop band itself has the number seven in its name. The singer is also the seventh member of the group to go solo.
