The female soloist held a media showcase in Seoul, ahead of the album's release at 6 PM. The event was live-streamed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The singer said she wanted to show her confidence in the new album "XOXO". The K-pop artist added that now she has learned to enjoy herself on the stage, and hopes to do with the album. She also wished to establish her place as a solo artist.

"XOXO" includes eight songs, each of which covers different genres and stories. The album is named after the sign-off for "hugs and kisses", and the title song talks about bidding goodbye to a relationship with an unfaithful boyfriend.

The song has the message of "with love" but in a sarcastic tone to portray that an unfaithful lover can go and have their life, it's fine. The singer added that the tune is easy to follow and is a nice driving song.

Incidentally, both "Dumb Dumb" and XOXO were candidates for the title track, and Jeon So Mi was not sure which one to choose, so she decided to pre-release the former and make a quick return with the latter.

The song "Don't Let Me Go" on the album features Giriboy, who is a South Korean rapper. He is the first guest to appear on the solo songs by Jeon.

"XOXO" also features the singer's first self-produced song "Watermelon", which she has fully self-written. Talking of the track, the K-pop artist said that she discovered that there is something common between a watermelon and love, and that is the inspiration for the song.

The album also includes the song "Anymore". which is Jeon So Mi's first track that has entirely made of English lyrics. "XOXO" also contains the singer's previously released singles "Outta My Head", "What You Waiting For", and "Birthday".
