Miley Cyrus surprised everyone with her energetic performance on Thursday during a South by Southwest event.

The pop star gave a surprise performance at the event which was otherwise dominated by rappers.

Cyrus appeared on stage when his music producer and rapper Mike Will Made-It was performing. She supported the rapper with her vocals for a while before belting out her hit number, Miami Herald reported.

Cyrus started her part with "We Can't Stop" and soon performed alongside other rappers, including Future and Rae Sremmurd. The singer also showed some rapping skill by reciting some of Nicki Minaj's part on Rae Sremmurd's song "Throw Sum Mo."

The 22-year-old pop star was dressed in a sequin embellished slip dress with a matching denim jacket, a pair of metallic platform heels and a chunky Chanel choker. The dress generously showed off the singer's well toned legs on stage.

Cyrus' boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger was nowhere to be seen at the event. The singer was the only female on stage, which at that point of time was filled with almost 20 rappers jumping here and there.

Cyrus was her usual self, blasting the audience with a water gun, throwing up her arms, and sticking out her tongue, Daily Mail reported. Other guest performers were Riff Raff and Two-9.

Schwarzenegger's absence was quite evident throughout the event that fueled the rumors that the couple is heading towards break up. It is yet not confirmed, but multiple reports state that Schwarzenegger's closeness with an unidentified girl is not appreciated by the twerking star.

Schwarzenegger was recently spotted with another girl on a beach. The pair appeared to be quite friendly and comfortable with each other.
