Louis Tomlinson is finally on the market after dating long-time girlfriend Eleanor Calder for over three years. The former couple has been together since 2011, and they have decided to call it quits only a couple of weeks ago.
“Louis and Eleanor split up two weeks ago,” the 1D member’s rep told Us Weekly. To date, Tomlinson has not given any comment regarding his split from Calder as “they wanted some privacy during this time.”
Despite the silence, Tomlinson is reportedly “really upset” about the breakup. A friend of his dished to People that they have actually been trying very hard to make their relationship work. Sadly, since Tomlinson had to be away at least nine months in a year, “they just grew apart.”
Tomlinson, together with the rest of One Direction, had to travel to different parts of the globe for the band’s tour. Calder, on the other hand, has stayed in Manchester, England, where she studied at the University of Manchester.
This split was not the only big news that involves One Direction members. Zayn Malik had recently decided to leave their “On the Road Again” tour, opting not to be part of the Manila leg of their world tour. According to multiple online reports, his decision to take a break was stress-related.
Apparently, the “stress” that Malik got after he was accused of cheating on his fiancée Perrie Edwards was too much for him to bear. Still, despite what he is presently going through, he recently shut down rumors via a Twitter post.
“I am 22 years old,” Malik wrote. “I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. There’s a lot of jealous f**** in this world. I’m sorry for what it looks like.”
