One, Norman (Freddie Highmore) and Emma (Olivia Cooke) are becoming more comfortable with each other, says the episode synopsis of "Bates Motel" Season 3, Episode 3. Norma (Vera Farmiga) is directly affected as Norman seems to grow apart from her.

Two, "Norma balks when Romero asks Norman some tough questions" in this week's new "Bates Motel" episode. The A&E synopsis does not mention Annika (Tracy Spiridakos) of Room 4, but Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell) learned about her in the previous episode.

Three, "Romero meets his competition for re-elections." This side story in Romero's career conflicts would take some time off Dylan (Max Thieriot) and Caleb (Kenny Johnson), who have ample screentime in the first two episodes of "Bates Motel" Season 3.

Toward the end of the second episode of "Bates Motel" Season 3, a semi-naked woman is seen floating face down in a White Pine Bay river. Viewers hope to find out in this week's new episode if it really is Annika's lifeless body in the river.

At this point, Norma has already told Romero that Norman was out with Annika the previous night, and Annika hasn't checked back in at the hotel. Norma and Romero are expected to talk a bit more about the latter's presence at the sex party of the Arcanum Club in "Bates Motel" Season 3, Episode 2.
