As detailed by Daily Mail, Britton’s role will be “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Faye Resnick, who was also a close friend of the late Nicole Brown Simpson.

“Excited to announce my friend Connie Britton will play Faye Resnick in the upcoming FX miniseries, ‘The People v. OJ Simpson,’” Murphy wrote on Twitter.

This new show will be focusing on what was considered to be the “Trial of the Century” back in 1995. The show has already been slated to premiere this fall.

The actor brought in for OJ Simpson’s role is Cuba Gooding, Jr., and he will be joined by other known celebrities, such as David Schwimmer, Sarah Paulson, Courtney Vance, and John Travolta.

Entitled “American Crime Story,” the show will tackle different sensational crimes for each season. To date, the extent of Britton’s participation in the show has been kept under wraps, but the real Resnick was very much active in the background during the famous ‘90s murder case. Resnick was living with Ronald Goldman and Nicole shortly before the two were killed in 1994.

Resnick had also written a highly controversial memoir that detailed her friendship with the late Nicole, according to TV Line. As a result of her memoir, the trial was temporarily halted. The book was entitled “The Private Diary of A Life Interrupted,” and Resnick was clearly expressing in her book that she truly believed OJ Simpson was capable of murdering her friend.
