Breaking his silence for the first time, Burt Jenner, Bruce Jenner's oldest son, has come down strongly on stand-up comedians for targetting his family over the issue of Bruce's uncomfirmed gender transformation. In a statement given to reporters at LAX on Monday, Burt defended his family and criticised comedian Jamie Foxx and Kevin Hart for poking fun at his father and at his half sister Kendall Jenner respectively.
"You can make jokes about my dad all you want but you can't make some jokes in front of my sister, making my sister feel awkward," Daily Mail quoted Burt's angry statement.
Foxx has come under fire from all corners after his controversial stint at the second annual iHeartRadio Music Awards held on Sunday night in Los Angeles. He was hosting the event when his opening monologue about Bruce Jenner created a stir in social media and online communities.
"We got some groundbreaking performances, here too, tonight," Foxx said. "We got Bruce Jenner, who will be doing some musical performances. He's doing a his-and-her duet all by himself." Watch the video below.
Foxx's ugly jokes about Jenner is also not taken well in social media and online platforms. He is being criticized heavily for being too offensive and hurting the sentiments of people struggling with the issues of gender and sexual identity, CNN reported. The hashtag #iHeartRadioMusicAwards remained a top trending topic on Monday as users slammed Foxx for cracking transphobic jokes at Bruce.
Burt even compared Foxx's comments with Hart's similar jokes which he targeted at Kendall Jenner at Comedy Central's Justin Bieber roast. Hart made a joke about Kendall getting hooked up with Bieber which evidently made the young model quite uncomfortable who was present in the audience.
The former Olympian and reality TV personality is rumored to be transitioning into a woman. Several media reports have been floating from past few months claiming the same. However, the 65-year-old has yet not confirmed any sort of gender transformation.
