Actor and producer Mark Wahlberg is reportedly eyeing on producing a movie based on the Boston Marathon bombing and he will also be the lead actor starring for the film.
According to Deadline, CBS Films will be producing a movie entitled "Patriot's Day" and it will be based on firsthand accounts regarding the manhunt of the suspects regarding the incident. The investigation was lead by Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis and Wahlberg eyes that role for the said movie.
The report adds that the film will be based on the research and footage captured by 60 Minutes. Reportedly, a script is almost done and it was written by Matt Charman.
"Patriot's Day" is said to be focused on the five-day search of the suspects until one of the bombers identified as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found in a boat in Watertown. Aside from Wahlberg, Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson, Michael Radutzky and Scott Stuber will also help produce the film.
The soon-to-be CBS Films-produced movie is not the first to tackle the Boston Marathon Bombing that happened back in 2013 as Fox did announce earlier that they also want to produce a film about the incident and it will be entitled "Boston Strong".
The trial regarding the bombing is ongoing as of the moment and the defense team for Tsarnaev is set to defend their client who will be sentenced to death if proven guilty.
CBS Films President Terry Press said in a press release that the movie they are to make is very compelling since a real story is to be produced having real heroes serving the country. Press added that the team they formed for the said film is determined to give the audiences a more personal look regarding the incident and the manhunt that lasted for days.
Meanwhile, Wahlberg talked about his fitness routine with The New Zealand Herald as he revealed that he wakes up at 2:30 in the morning for six days a week and goes to bed every night at eight in the evening to stay fresh and maintain his body's shape.
