"Commands respect even from space: we just flew over typhoon Maysak," reads the caption of the photos from Cristoforetti account.

The images highlighted the perfect shape of the typhoon with its visible eye in the center that looks like a vortex. However, what attracts the attention of internet users is the wide circumference of the super typhoon. The photos showed the massive size of the weather disturbance.

The storm is believed to have killed five people when it passed the Chuuk state of Micronesia earlier this week.

Category 5 Maysak is reportedly heading towards the Philippines. Although experts expect the storm to weaken as it heads towards the country, Unicef and the Philippine government warned the residents to be prepared to avoid the same disaster that happened during super typhoon Haiyan. However, Unicef is already on standby to respond to those who will be affected by the storm. The organization has complete supplies ready for at least 10,000 families, according to International Business Times.

"Unicef is ready to support the government with pre-positioned emergency supplies from our local warehouses in Manila, Tacloban, and Cotabato once the emergency hits. In times of disasters, children face the risk of disease outbreaks, malnutrition, violence and disrupted education. Our priority is to ensure that children and their rights and welfare are protected before, during and after disasters," the publication cited Lotta Sylwander from Unicef Philippines.
