Former Florida governor and possible presidential candidate for the Republicans Jeb Bush reportedly ticked the box of being a Hispanic in his voter's form and the democrats are accusing him of felony.
In 2009, the rumored presidential candidate for the upcoming race this 2016 mistakenly ticked the Hispanic box as it was just beside the box that says "White, not Hispanic." However, Bustle reported that this mistake is being seen as something that should be corrected since he has plans of running for the position at the White House.
According to a statement, it was just an honest mistake as Bush was thinking of so many things during the registration. Bush is well-affiliated with the Hispanic community as his wife is a native of Mexico and he is fluent in speaking Spanish but he was born in Florida making his claim questionable.
Also in the statement, Bush is very intent on solving the problems regarding illegal immigration. Due to this, it will make him a candidate that could be greatly supported by the Hispanic voters. Bush's stand regarding the issue is not in accordance with his fellow Republicans as they go against the moves of President Barack Obama regarding the issue.
The issue over Bush listing himself as a Hispanic voter was highlighted by the Democrats as Albert Morales, an outreach director to the Hispanic voters, shared that Bush was "out of step" with his mistake and legal experts are saying that Bush might have wanted to deceive the people and he can be charged with the committed crime.
Bush is not alone on this one as his opponent, Republican Senator Ted Cruz, also had to prove that he is eligible to run for president due to being born in Canada. However, his mother is an American so he is suitable for the position as per requirements and grounds of being a candidate for the presidential race this 2016, as per the report of The New York Times.
