Samsung was betting on the next Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones, but they never expected the curved screen phone to be so much in demand. It has gone out of stock and the company is doing their best to meet the growing demands.

According to The Guardian, Samsung's head of mobile JK Shin admitted that it is practically difficult to manufacture curved screens. They never expected the S6 Edge phones to go off the shelves so quickly and because of the practical difficulty in manufacturing those curved displays again, they may not be able to meet consumer demand at least for the next couple of weeks.

Unlike conventional smartphones, which uses a flat, glass display, the Edge dared to be different and introduced a display that curve on the sides. While practical benefits of the curve is yet to be confirmed, customers have took fancy to the device because of its innovative design.

Even though, the S6 Edge is significantly higher in price when compared to the flagship S6, it did not stop people from buying it. Meanwhile the Galaxy S6 phones continues to help Samsung earn good profit and it is gearing up to get launched in 20 other countries on Apr. 10.

The representative added that because of the increased demand for S6 Edge phones that is expected to run throughout the year, the phone's selling price will not have any significant drop for some time which will help the company make more revenue.

As Samsung has shifted from using Qualcomm chips to their proprietary chips in their smartphones, the company was able to post a better profit average from January to March, Reuters reported
