Two-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray has officially tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Kim Sears on Saturday in a wedding ceremony surprisingly void of any member of the fabled Big Four.

Murray's marriage to Sears at the 12th Century-old Dunblane Cathedral in his hometown was supposed to be a high-profile wedding, but the couple's decision to keep the media out with only their family and few friends invited made the ceremony very intimate.

Pictures of Murray wedding were still released online by several media sites hours after the event and fans immediately noticed the absence of any of his Big Four rivals: Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and even his closest foe in ATP circuit Rafael Nadal.

Some would think the heat of their competitions over the years has created boundaries amongst them. Murray even stressed a week after the wedding that no celebrity, either from the show business or the sporting world, would get invitations since he doesn't have any celebrity friends in the first place.

"There won't be any celebrities as such," Murray said in an interview with the Telegraph. "I don't have any celebrity friends so it wasn't something that was planned. [The list will be] Everyone who we're close to, people we've spent a lot of time with in the past but also people we see ourselves spending time with in the future. That's how we came up with the names. Pretty much everything is done now and under control. I'm sure a few things will come up next week but it's pretty much sorted.

Despite getting 'snubbed' in Murray's wedding, Federer, Djokovic and Nadal all sent their congratulatory messages to the newly-wedded couple through their social media account, wishing Murray and his wife the best in the next chapter of their lives.
