Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West had their daughter North West baptized in Jerusalem on Monday. The traditional ritual was carried out in the centuries old Saint James Cathedral in Jerusalem's Old City.

The star couple was accompanied by Kim' sister Khloe Kardashian. The family arrived from Armenia in a private jet at Israel's international airport before being whisked away in dark black SUVs to a hotel in Jerusalem.

The baptism ceremony of the famous toddler, who is also an inheritor of multi million fortune, became a huge event in Israel when hundreds of fans, curious onlookers and aggressive paparazzi surrounded the church to get a glimpse of the stars. While entering the cathedral, Kim and Khloe reportedly pleaded the crowd to make way for them

 "Stop," shouted Kim Kardashian. "Stop! It's not safe for the baby," her sister added. Kim clutched the toddler protectively in her arms while being escorted by West, Khloe and several hooded clergymen, Fox News reported. Khloe is now officially the godmother of the 22-month-old toddler.

The baptism ceremony was also confirmed by an Armenian church official who announced that "Kim Kardashian's daughter will be baptized and become a Christian officialy," TIME reported. No further details were released and the family left without addressing the reporters.

After the ritual, the trio, Kim, West and Khloe, along with the newly baptized child went for an "intimate" dinner with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat at Mona Restaurant. The Kardashian-West family members were reportedly elated due to day's event and were eager try out new local flavours.

Before coming to Jerusalem, the Kardashian-West family was on a trip to Armenia to trace its family roots. They will halt in the city for two days and might also shoot some footage for their hit reality show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" before heading to Jordan to continue their journey.
