The Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuously expanding and one of its films, "Captain Marvel," has found its scribes.

Nicole Perlman of "Guardians and the Galaxy" and Meg LeFauve of Pixar's "Inside Out" are in talks to pen the script of the superhero film "Captain Marvel," according to The Tracking Board. Rumors circulating online say that Perlman will be writing the film soon while LeFauve has not yet confirmed.

Perlman stands as the first female scribe for a Marvel film like "Guardians of the Galaxy." She also served as a script doctor for Kenneth Brangah's "Thor." Her next writing projects are Dreamworks' adaptation of Francesca Haig's "The Fire Sermon," 20th Century Fox's "Dr. Livingstone, and Shawn Levy's "21 Laps."

Writer-producer Meg LeFauve is known for penning the screenplay of the upcoming animated film "Inside Out." She has also produced films such as "The Baby Dance" and "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys." Her next project will be the drama "Soviet Cowboy," which is to be led by Jodie Foster.

The superhero film will be produced by Marvel head Kevin Feige, with Jeremy Latcham and Johnathan Schwartz in charge of the film's development.

The upcoming film has no confirmed director at this point and Marvel's plan is to hire a female film helmer, to complete an all-female team for a female superhero film.

Director MacLaren is rumored to pilot the superhero film, since she has just dropped Warner Bros. and DC's "Wonder Woman," as per The Verge. There are lots of other competent female filmmakers that can take over the movie, but fans have to wait until official information is available.

The film is set to be Marvel's first solo female-led superhero film. It centers on a woman who acquires powers from her encounter with the aline Kree Empire.

"Captain Marvel" is slated to premiere in theaters in United States on July 6, 2018.
