Introducing a cyber edge to horror, “Unfriended” took the number three spot following "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2" and "Furious 7" in the box office as it managed to reel in an amount that was six times its original production budget, according to Deadline.

The movie, which runs for a little over an hour, focuses on the a teen, named Blaire Lily. It was a found-footage type of horror movie that shows how an unseen stalker manages to terrorize Blaire and kill off her friends one by one, and the only thing she can do is watch helplessly on Skype.

The whole movie was cleverly shot to look like the user interface of a Macbook and every event that occurred in the film happened in real time, Inquisitr reported.

The premise of the film was heavy with technology, that today’s tech-savvy generations will surely want to see it in theaters.

Fans, as well as potential fans, who have not yet seen the film and would like to do so can check out a “suicide” video central, that somehow serves as the spine of the movie’s plot, on LiveLeak and YouTube. One of those videos also leak to the suicide of Laura Barns.

For those who have no idea who Barns is, a Facebook account under her name actually exists. Photos show that the two actresses who played Laura and Blaire took selfies together.

Plus, the most recent posts found on her page seem to come from someone who had just hacked her account and started to threaten anyone who messages Laura. Not so surprisingly, the threats that were sent from Laura’s account actually have a key role in “Unfriended.”
