Children are oftentimes afraid of getting vaccinations. It is of very good news that U.S. Health and Human Services made an effective video that will encourage today’s youngsters to get their vaccinations.

Getting the injections is the only way the onset of certain diseases can be prevented and also an effective way of ensuring that the virus is not transferred from one child to another, especially during play time.

To make the video more interesting for the children, the U.S. Surgeon General is seen helping Elmo, the famous character from “Sesame Street,” cross the street. Plus, the video was purposely made to be silly and was clearly made to target little children’s concerns.

“I explained to him that, as Surgeon General, it is my job to help everyone stay healthy,” Vivek Murthy said, referring to his quick conversation with Elmo, according to Pierce Pioneer“Specifically, Elmo and I talked about the importance of vaccines and making sure that all children are protected from easily preventable diseases.”

The video was launched to the public on the same day that the California State Department of Health officially announced that the measles outbreak in the area had already ended. It was previously reported by a variety of sources that the disease had first originated from Disneyland during the holidays, infecting 147 in the U.S. and 131 in Canada.

Adults are well aware that flu shots are, indeed, necessary. However, children may need more persuasion since they have a tendency to have an unexplainable fear of needles.
