Years of taking on the supporting role and the funny side-kick are now over for Chris Pratt because he is debuting as the leading man in the summer movie "Jurassic World."

Shedding off the unwanted pounds, Pratt is seen ready to tackle on the leading man role in the "Jurassic World" produced by Hollywood thespian Steven Spielberg, who has the eye for making stars out of the likes of Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf.

Pratt would play the leading role in the film as Owen Grady, a dinosaur tamer. In a related film poster, Pratt is seen riding on his bike side by side with the carnivorous raptors, Star Pulse reported.

Unlike the "Jurassic Park" trilogy of the past, the raptors in "Jurassic World" are portrayed as allies ready to help the humans escape the clutches and deadly fangs of the dino hybrid Indominus Rex, the publication said.

In the new global trailer released by Universal Pictures, Pratt is seen trying to communicate with raptors, according to Huffington Post.

In a scene from the upcoming film, Pratt's character Grady shared that taming the raptors meant not imposing control on them but of respect for one another.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor will be joined by Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays the part of the head scientist in the park.

Like the previous "Jurassic" movies, there would be two youngsters played by actors Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson, who would find themselves in a vehicle and in other dangerous situations and get nearly killed by the big, bad dinosaur.

Moviegoers would have to brace themselves and make time to catch their breaths for the suspense-laden film directed by Collin Trevorrow.
