The adorable and mischievous Minions have just got their brand color in Pantone Color Institute and it is called "Minion Yellow."

Pantone Color Institute has recently announced its first character-branded color, which is based from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's "Minions."

The company is known to provide color systems and topnotch technology for the assortment and precise blending of colors in various industries. It also notes trends in global colors and analyzes how colors affect humans' mental processes, emotions, and behavior.

From designers to manufacturers and merchants to consumers, Pantone is recognized globally as the uniform channel for color communication.

Singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams was the mind behind the birth of Minion Yellow, as per CNN. Williams helped produce the scores for the "Despicable Me" films.

Pantone and the animation team of Illumination Entertainment worked thoroughly to evaluate the current color range and to determine the best depiction of the Minion's yellow color. They came up with a custom color intended to embody the funny and insubordinate characters, and it is now called Minion Yellow.

Laurie Pressman, Vice President of Pantone Color Institute said that they attentively reflected on the characters' aura to make sure that Pantone Minion Yellow is the right color.

Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiserman described Minion Yellow as a color that boosts awareness and yields clarity. It reveals the path to "intelligence, originality, and the resourcefulness" of the mind. She added that the color symbolizes hope, joy, and optimism.

Just like the Minions, Pantone's Minion Yellow is a shade that gives brightness, vigor, warmth, and fun to people. This new hue in the palette can actualize people's desire to add a more energizing color into their lives.

Fans will see the funny creatures in their upcoming film "Minions" as they travel in search for their new evil master. Helmed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin, "Minions" is slated to premiere on July 10.
