Those who want to buy the 7-inch tablet from the Google Store no longer have the chance as it finally said goodbye to the Nexus 7 2013 on Friday.

The search engine giant officially dropped the Google Nexus 7 2013 from their online store.  While Google has no comment on why it is discontinuing the product, it is most likely because it is now a bit outdated compared to other tablets in the market.

Google still rolled out an Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Nexus 7 2013, which was manufactured by Asus. However, it still had bugs like all devices running the yummy-named Lollipop version, according to Slash Gear.

In all fairness, the Google Nexus 7 2013 had a good run. It was met with positive reviews and feedback, possibly because of its continued updates from the company.

However, another plausible reason why Google discontinued the Nexus 7 2013 is because it is planning to launch a new one. Reports are already popping up, saying that Google is partnering with LG to make a new 7-inch tablet.

Google executives have been reportedly going to LG in South Korea. It would seem that the search engine giant is looking at various divisions of the manufacturer such as the LG Display, Know Your Mobile reported.

The rumors are pointing to a device that will be similar to the Nexus 7 2013 with a codename "N000." Initially, it was assumed that LG will be changing the name as the Nexus tablet still existed, but after the news of its discontinuation, it might actually be the Google Nexus 7 2015.

Google is also reportedly considering a partnership with Huawei on what is rumored to be the Google Nexus 5 2015. This means that the Android maker might be rolling out a Nexus phone and a Nexus tablet this year.
