Bruce Jenner's former wife Linda Thompson has revealed that she knew all along the former Olympic decathlon gold medallist wanted to transition from being a man to a woman. She said Jenner once planned to become"Aunt Heather" to his sons Brandon and Brody.

In an essay published in Huffington Post, Thompson wrote, "Bruce considered traveling out of the country, possibly to Denmark, to have the gender-confirmation surgery and then come back to the U.S. identifying as female."

"I asked Bruce, "What about the children?" He thought maybe he could reenter their lives as "Aunt Heather," Thompson wrote.

According to Thompson, she and Bruce separated after going to therapy for about six months merely to exhaust any hope of keeping their family together. She noted that being married to a woman was not what she had envisioned for her life.

Thompson also said she would not have married Bruce if he had told her about his gender issue when they first started getting romantically involved.

Before Bruce, Thompson dated the late Elvis Presley from 1972 to 1976. She and Bruce were married from 1981 to 1986. They have two sons together, Brody and Brandon.

In 1991, Thompson married David Foster. However, they divorced in 2005. They did not have children together.

Foster is currently one of the judges of "Asia's Got Talent" on AXN Asia along with Anggun, former Spice Girls member Melanie C and Vanness Wu.

On May 28, Fosted will accept the 2015 Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Victoria Conference Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Times Colonist reported.
