Social network giant Facebook recently released an app called Hello exclusive for the Android operating system. The app was built by the same team behind the Facebook Messenger app.

Facebook announced its latest app through its official blog saying, "Billions of calls are made every day on mobile phones and people often have very little information about who's calling them. Today we are starting to test Hello, a new app built by the Messenger team."

The new Hello app functions as a dialer and shows the caller's official Facebook photo when calling. According to New York Daily, the caller's information will still appear even if their numbers are not saved on the receiver's phone. Many tech analysts say that this new app from Facebook could put an end to mysterious and anonymous phone calls.

The new app will replace the current Android OS dialer. The new app will show the name and number of the caller. However, the information will only appear if the user and the caller have publicly shared their contract information on Facebook.

According to Tech Times, the new app will also promote the Wi-Fi calling feature currently available in Messenger. Additionally, Messenger will also be integrated in the new Hello app. The Hello app will also allow its users to block certain numbers.

Facebook's aim in the development of the Hello app is to modernize the way people make phone calls nowadays. The new app will also synchronize with Facebook contact list and can be installed with ease. This means that people who regularly change their phones or have multiple phone units will have no problem identifying family and friends every time they make a call.
