Motorola is raising the bar for mid-range smartphones by integrating 4G LTE technology to its latest Moto G2. A worthy successor to the Motorola Moto G, the Moto G2 will also receive hardware upgrades.

The new Moto G2 will be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop and Motorola will probably roll out the Android 5.1 Lollipop once it becomes available, according to Day Herald. This is one of the major upgrade to the previously released Moto G2 which runs on the Android KitKat operating system.

On the hardware side, the new Moto G2 will feature a 5-inch full touchscreen display with maximum resolution of 720x1280. To protect the screen from scratches and vertical fall damage, Motorola added the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Moto G2 boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 quad-core processor and an Adreno 305 graphics card.

It has 1 gigabyte of memory and 8 gigabyte of internal storage. For storage conscious users, the smartphone has an integrated MicroSD slot that can support up to 32 gigabyte of additional storage space. The Moto G2 also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus technology and LED flash.

The smartphone is considered to be a mid-range device and was rumored to cost around $236 when released, according to Master Herald.

Motorola has pushed the boundaries by integrating its new smartphone with 4G LTE technology which is only available in all high-end smartphones but is only limited to some model in the mid-range smartphone market. The LTE capability of the Moto G2 is a decent enough reason for some consumers to buy the smartphone.
