Suzanne Crough, best known as the youngest daughter of the 1970s hit sitcom "The Partridge Family," died on Monday at her home in Nevada. She was 52.
The exact cause of the actress' death is yet not known. An unidentified family member of the actress confirmed the former child star's death to TMZ saying that it was a sudden death and she was not suffering from any major ailment.
Crough was one of the most adorable characters of the yesteryear hit comedy show. "The Partridge Family," which was about a widowed mother and her five children who forms a band and frequently undertakes road trips.
The actress started her stint in show business with a Barbie commercial. In "The Partridge Family," Crough played the role of Tracy, who was assigned to play sang backup vocals and tambourine in the band. The show aired from 1970 to 1974 and gained huge popularity among TV viewers.
The cast consisted of a widowed mom, played by Shirley Jones, and her five children, played by David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Brian Forster and Crough, New York Times reported. The sitcom's theme songs "When We're Singin" and "Get Happy" went on to become the popular tracks.
Post the show, Crough also appeared in 1977 drama series "Mulligan's Stew" on NBC and in the Academy Award-winning short film "Teenage Father" in 1978. She was last seen on-screen in 1980 in the TV movie "Children of Divorce."
Crough reunited with the cast members of "The Partridge Family" in 2010 where she disclosed that she had quit acting and is working as a manager in OfficeMax. The actress is survived by her husband William Condray and their daughters, Samantha and Alexandra. Watch the former child star in action below.
