Pop star Britney Spears sprained her ankle on April 29, Wednesday night during a performance. The singer has to cancel and reschedule her Friday and Saturday shows.

A video captured by a witness in the audience shows the "Hit Me Baby One More Time" hit maker kicking and high-stepping on high-heels while performing her single, "You Drive Me Crazy," before her left ankle gives way. The dance troop tried to cover the star and camouflage the evident discomfort in Spear's performance but failed and the star has to leave the stage soon after. Watch the video below.

"Sorry about that," quipped Spears as she allegedly winced in pain and clutched her ankle before she was helped by onstage dancers to finish the number.

The star was performing at Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino doing her "Piece of Me" show. Planet Hollywood released a statement saying that Spear's doctors has advised her to take rest this weekend, so the shows  planned for this Friday and Saturday night are now rescheduled, ABC reported.

The "Lucky" singer took to Twitter to declare that she is fine and will reschedule the cancelled shows very soon.

"Thank you for all of the sweet wishes! Had a little scare on stage tonight with my ankle but I'm ok! ," tweeted the 33-year-old singer to calm down the paranoid fans.

Although rumors indicate that the 32-year-old singer lip-synchs in her Vegas showcase, her shows are jam packed with audience who often find the show full of surprises and strange turn of events. Back in December 2013, the singer suffered a serious wardrobe malfunction as her tight sequined dress came undone, exposing her bare back and was about to fall down. Spears was saved just in time by the dancers who frantically tried to fix it up while the song went on, New York Daily News reported.

During another concert last month, Spears' loose hair extension can be seen dangling from the back of her head and eventually fell down while the leather-clad Spears danced on her hit track "Do Something."
