While the social media is abuzz with the news that the Apple watch has a tattoo trouble, and that the watch's heart-rate monitor does not work well on tattooed wrists, Apple seems to accept the fact to be true.
The social media, including twitter and Reddit has already had enough inputs regarding this issue.
"It turns out you must choose between a wrist tattoo and an #AppleWatch," tweeted Steve Burgess.
The truth behind the issue has been deeply studied by the media, and before others could comment harshly on the issue, Apple has already cleared the doubts itself.
Apple has admitted tattoos may reduce the efficiency of the watch's heart sensors. However, the company believes that there is no issue with technology; it is only due to the ink that blocks the lights of the sensors.
The Apple site stated:
"Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance. The ink, pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings."
Meanwhile, another popular issue that dark skins also make the heart sensor less effective was not found to be immaculate. Many African Americans used the Watch's Heart Sensor and it worked perfectly. The issue is overblown, according to USA Today.
The Apple Watch is not alone with problems. Reports have surfaced that Fitbit's Charge HR suffers from the similar issue. It depends on how the Watch's green Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights and photodiode sensors penetrate the skin to check the changes in capillaries and blood vessels.
Apple however says that the watch can connect to an external heart rate monitors over Bluetooth. It does not seem to be quite easy or comfortable though, Engadget reported .
There is no other major trouble with tattoos and the watch's working status. However, it is worth visiting the local Apple Store to check the issue before investing the heard-earned money for a new Apple watch.
