"Django Unchained" actress Daniele Watts was ordered to apologize to the Los Angeles Police Department cops after she accused them of racially profiling her when she and her boyfriend were arrested last year.

Watts agreed to apologize to the three officers on Monday regarding a disturbing the peace with loudness case that stemmed from September 2014. Watts, who is black, and her boyfriend Brian Lucas, who is white, both pleaded no contest to the said case, NBC News reported.

A spokesman from the Los Angeles city attorney's office told the publication that Watts and Lucas were sentenced to a year of formal diversion that included counseling and 40 hours of community service.

As for the apology, the two were required to write letters to the three police officers as well as to the residents of the building where their car was parked during the incident.

The case against Watts and Lucas said that a citizen complained of indecent exposure noting that the two were having a sexual intercourse in their car that was parked near the CBS studio lot. The complainant called 911 and police responded due to the call. The LAPD officials who responded to the said incident had to detain Watts and Lucas but the two were released later on the same day.

The LAPD officers were accused of racially profiling her because she was black while her boyfriend was white, TMZ reported. She was cuffed by the police because she grew frantic after being confronted by police officials. Watts also did not provide her ID even if the police demanded it form her.

Watts took to Facebook to talk about the incident and rant more about the accused racial profiling of the LAPD officials. However, a police audio recording from the LAPD was released to clear out that the officials did not, in any way, racially profile the actress.
